Save the Prescott National Forest

Stop the Industrial-Scale Camino Madre
Wind Farm Project

Why We Oppose the Camino Madre Wind Project

We are Yavapai County residents, landowners, veterans, families, and nature lovers united against the proposed industrial wind project on the historic Yavapai Ranch and the Prescott National Forest by Triple Oak Power. Approximately 76 massive turbines (plus solar arrays and battery storage) would permanently damage one of the worst possible locations, a sensitive checkerboard land directly intermixed with Prescott National Forest.

Wildlife & Habitat Destruction

Fragmentation of critical migration corridors for pronghorn, elk, deer, golden eagles, bats, and more. New roads and tall structures disrupt pinon-juniper, ponderosa pine, and grassland ecosystems.

Forest & Ecosystem Harm

Industrial development undermines conservation goals, increases wildfire risks, and permanently alters the natural character of these public-private lands.

Community & Quality of Life

Noise, visual skyline destruction from 500–800+ ft turbines with FAA-required flashing red lights at night, light pollution destroying dark skies, and loss of rural peace for nearby homes and families.

Poor Siting & Economics

Arizona has millions of acres of flatter, already-disturbed desert lands with better wind resources and far lower ecological cost. This sensitive forest-adjacent site is one of the worst choices possible.

Our Clear Position

Wind power can be part of Arizona’s energy portfolio - but not in a place like this, with beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife

We Demand

  • Full, transparent Environmental Impact Statements
  • Thorough reviews by AZ Game & Fish, U.S. Forest Service, and Yavapai County
  • Serious consideration of lower-impact alternative sites
  • Rigorous public hearings and accountability

Note: The project is still in early permitting stages. Now is the time for strong, organized opposition.
